Obituary of Eileen Daniel HORNELL: Eileen M. Daniel, 65, of Ontario Street passed away peacefully Thursday evening, June 21, 2018 at Hornell Gardens surrounded by her family. Eileen was born October 8, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio to Thomas and Marjorie (Auer) Sheehan. On December 29, 1973 in West Palm Beach, Fl. she married John J. Daniel who survives and resides in Hornell. John and Eileen moved to the Alfred Station/Hornell area in June of 1989. Eileen worked as a nursing assistant for a little over 20 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother, as well as a caring friend to many. In addition to her husband John, Eileen is survived by a daughter Lynda (Matthew) McNeill and grandson, Timothy McNeill all of Canisteo, two brothers, Thomas (Deborah) Sheehan and Timothy (Lisa) Sheehan, four sisters, Kathleen (Bill) Kretowiz, Mary (Patrick) Sullivan, Anne (Tony) Hohman and Marjorie (Joseph) Siciliano, mother-in-law Mary Daniel, brother-in-law Anthony (Terri) Daniel sister-in-law Elizabeth Daniel and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo. A funeral mass will take place Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hornell. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 415 Crossways Park Dr., Suite D, Woodbury, N.Y. 11797 or to Hornell Gardens Hospice Care, 434 Monroe Ave. Hornell, N.Y. 14843. (Please make a memo regarding the donation in memory of for each.)
