Obituary for Eileen C. (Dunnigan) Hunsinger Eileen C. (Dunnigan) Hunsinger, 89, a longtime Maynard, MA resident, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. Born in Meriden, CT, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Verna (Besse) Dunnigan. In early years she lived in Malden and Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of a girls’ high school in the West End of Boston. She proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Married October 2, 1954 to George A. Hunsinger, the couple settled in Maynard to raise their son, Stephen. Mrs. Hunsinger was a devoted caregiver and advocate for her son, who died in 1997. Her husband George passed in 2000. A bookkeeper for almost 20 years for Cork Engineering and Insulation Co, formerly of Charlestown, MA, in later years she loved her time as a nanny to the Killian, Driscoll and Ruediger families of Concord. Mrs. Hunsinger enjoyed quilting and embroidering until her eyesight declined. She is survived by a sister, Verna Sebastyn of FL, and many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by two brothers, Earl and Richard Dunnigan, and a sister Louise Waldron. Visiting hours are Wed. June 13th, 2018 from 5-8pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thurs.
