Obituary for Edward “Bud” Mattern Edward (Bud) Mattern 1960-2018 Age 58, of Canton passed away unexpectedly on March 4th, 2018. Bud was born on February 12th, 1960 in Canton, Ohio. He was a graduate from Timken Sr. High School. Upon graduation, Bud enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in Washington State where he met the love of his life and soulmate of 37 years, Betsy. After returning to Canton, Bud followed his passion for life by doing the things he loved. He loved fishing, shooting pool, horseshoes, coaching baseball, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Mattern, son, Derrick Mattern, beloved mother, Judy Mattern, brother and best friend, Dwayne Mattern, two sisters, Toni Morris and Sonia Varner, and several nephews and nieces.
