Edmund P. Ike (Iacobucci), 92, formerly from Aliquippa, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his Coral Springs, Florida home. Born May 3, 1926 he was a son of the late Walter and Amerina Iacobucci. Edmund was a United States Navy veteran, serving in World War II as a Radioman USNR. He began his airline career with Capital Airlines in 1951 as a Ramp Serviceman. While living in Aliquippa Edmund was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church serving the church family as an usher for many years. He enjoyed a game of golf in his spare time, playing the piano, and loved traveling to all parts of the world (particularly an audience with the Pope in Italy). Edmund and his wife Catherine moved to Florida in 2012. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially being Papa Ed to his two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Edmund was the rock and inspiration to his family, he exemplified great faith, a spirited & jovial personality, loyalty to family and he loved life. A part of him will live on in all of us. He will be deeply missed. In addition to Edmund’s parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Walter C. Iacobucci and sister Elsie Tri. Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Catherine; his daughter Cheryl and husband Donald Nelson, Coral Springs, FL; two grandchildren, Christina and husband Michael Korenoski, Boynton Beach, FL; John and wife Lindsay Nelson, Tampa, FL; four great grandchildren, Amerina and Joseph Korenoski, and Cameron and Claire Nelson; sister-in-law Nancy Iacobucci (wife of brother Walter); and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Thursday, June 28 from 4 to 6 pm at Tatalovich Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2205 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, where a service will be held Friday, June 29 at 10:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2270 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa. Interment will follow at 11:45 in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Township, where the Beaver County Special Unit will conduct military honors. The family would like to thank his caregivers at Bright Horizons of Greenwood in Coral Springs for their kindness and loving care.
