Obituary of Edith Carl Troupsburg, N.Y. – Edith E. Carl, 80, of Troupsburg passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday evening, June 13, 2018. Edith was born August 15, 1937. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Lura Jackson. Edith graduated high school in 1956 from Campbell, N.Y. On February 21, 1957 she married Robert J Carl Sr. of Troupsburg, N.Y. After marriage she became a full time homemaker, mother, and dairy farmer. Edith was a lifetime member of the Troupsburg Methodist Church and the Troupsburg Ladies Auxiliary. Edith was predeceased by her three sisters; Dorothy Knowles, Virginia Houghtaling, and Delores Havens. Edith is survived by her husband of 61 years Robert J. Carl Sr; sons Robert J. Carl Jr. (Agatha Tucker), Larry (Shelly) Carl, Daniel (Sharlene) Carl, Randall (Lori) Carl, Benjamin (Renee) Carl all of Troupsburg, N.Y., daughters; Wanda (Robert Jr) Goodwin of Brookneal, V.A., Karen (Donald) Jones of Kent, N.Y., sister Cheryl (Dennis) Sumey of Risingville, N.Y., grandchildren; Rebecca (Brian) Stratton, Christina (Daron) Allington, Kenneth Carl, Chelsea Carl, Erica Carl, Alex Carl, Joseph Carl, Jessalyn Carl all of Troupsburg, N.Y., Eric (Renea) Lowrey of Brookneal, V.A., Donald “Tony” (Andrea) Lowrey of Lynchburg, V.A., Jennifer (Heath) Stout of Charlottesville, V.A., Kelli (Tim) Empson of Westfield, P.A., Kathryn Carl of Erie, P.A., Mary and Lucas Jones of Kent, N.Y., several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. As it was Edith’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be with just family at the Young Hickory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Edith’s name to the Young Hickory Cemetery in care of Frank Symonds.
