Mr. Doug Reed, age 75, of Covington passed away Thursday, May 30, 2018. He was born April 21, 1943 in Roanoke, Virginia to Ervin T. and Lorraine Carr Reed who have preceded him in death. Mr. Reed was a carpenter by trade and also worked as an executive with Cub Foods and K-Mart throughout his career. He enjoyed fishing and had a passion for cars, his favorite being his Corvette. Mr. Reed grew up in Floyd County, Virginia where he attended the Methodist church with his family. He is survived by his children Terry D. Reed of Stone Mountain, Sharon M. McCormack of Loganville and Melissa L. Payne of Loganville. His grandchildren are Chelsea and Johnathan Reed, Danielle Williams, Baker, Bobby, and Tommy McCormack, David, Jamey, Jessey, and Dalton Payne. His great grandchildren are Jennifer and Samuel, Williams, Zoey McCormack, Tyler, Zoey, Jackson and Lillian Payne along with a host of other family and close friends. Memorial services for Mr. Reed will be held at 4 o’clock Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. J.C.
