Obituary for Dorothy Sperry Dorothy Ann Sperry passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. She was born in Ryegate, Montana on January 25, 1935 to Joe and Katie(Ott) Schanz. She grew up on the family farm in the Big Coulee area and attended school in Ryegate with her two sisters. Dorothy married Morey Sperry on October 25, 1952. Morey enlisted in the service and they lived in both Colorado and Washington until 1958; returning to Montana they settled in Bozeman where they raised their three sons and Dorothy worked at 4B’s restaurant. Later on they moved to Billings where she worked at the cafeteria for school district #2. Dorothy loved to decorate for the holidays and other hobbies included: crafts, embroidery, knitting, reading, baking and shopping. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Katie Schanz and her husband, Morey. She is survived by her sisters, Irene (Ted) Dirkson of Lewistown, MT and Eleanor Barr; three sons: Ron (Sandy) of Butte, MT; Tim (Valerie) of Billings, MT; Larry (Debbie) of Coeur d’Alene, ID; five grandchildren: Renee (Jason) O’Keefe of Butte, Mt; SMSgt. Kevin(Andrea) Perusich of Yelm, WA; Jaylee (Jordan) Nakamura of Gallatin Gateway, Mt; Rob (Faith) Sperry of Bozeman, Mt; Jake Sperry of Shelby, Mt and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at St. John’s Lutheran Ministries for the excellent care given to Dorothy. Cremation has taken place and in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, at Smith’s Downtown Chapel, located at 925 South 27 Street.
