Doris Butler Sharpe, age 83, of Sanford, NC, died Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her home. She was born in Harnett County, NC on May 18, 1935 to the late Emery Wilson Butler and Lizzie Thelma Mason Butler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Dan Sharpe. Doris worked many years at Central Carolina Hospital as a nurse. She is survived by her son Jack Sharpe of Sanford; daughter Jill Stone and husband Sammy of Broadway; sisters Pat Cameron and husband Clarence of Albemarle, Michelle Holland and husband Andrew of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren Adam Sharpe, Cassie Patterson, Travis McNeill; great-grandchildren Avery Patterson, Emery McNeill and Chance Sharpe; and nieces Alison Holland, Erin Holland, Paula Cameron-Sayre and Amity Cameron-Sayre. A memorial service will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Swann Station Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Blackman officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 1836 Doctors Drive, Sanford, NC 27330.
