Rhinebeck – Donald R. Empert, Sr., 75, passed away at his home in Rhinebeck on June 8, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Donald was a longtime Rhinebeck resident where he had worked as a carpenter and builder. Born December 21, 1942 in Poughkeepsie he was the son of the late Stephen and Carmela (Casico) Empert. Donald is survived by his wife Connie Empert of Rhinebeck; six children, Tammy Sullivan of Ohio, Donna (Lyle) Curtis of Poughkeepsie, Mark of Poughkepsie, Donald (Michelle) Jr. of Rhinebeck, Kelly and Jerame of Rhinebeck; grandchildren, Ryan, Darcie, Rana, Lyle Jr., Cassandra, Rachel, Tony, Mark Jr, Mikal, Matthew, Shane, Derek and Nick, several great grandchildren; a sister Carmela Burns of VA, brother Stephen Empert of VA; as well as an aunt Joyce Empert and an uncle Richard Empert. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his Aunt Rose Casico and his Uncle Joe Casico Calling hours are 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday June 11 at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. Funeral services are Tuesday June 12 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Rhinebeck Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Connie Empert, 6842 Route 9, Lot 13, Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
