Denny Dan Morgan 78 of Albemarle died peacefully Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home in Supply, NC Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood, NC. Rev. Mark Little will officiate and burial will follow in Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Dan was born December 10, 1939 to the late Judge W. and Menty Little Morgan. He was a 1958 graduate of Oakboro High School. Dan was a lifelong entrepreneur and a driving force in the founding of several businesses including his first business Bulldozing, Piedmont Crane Service, Piedmont Diesel Service, Poppin’ John’s Homemade Ice Cream and Rolling Hills “Cotton” Gin. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Jeannie Morgan, and Wes and Missy Morgan and their children Jonah and Anna Morgan all of New London. One sister, Audrey Darlene Stamey of Mint Hill and one brother, Judge W. Morgan Jr. and wife Joanna of Oakboro. He is also survived by his special canine friend “Bucky”. He was preceded in death by three brothers, O. Kemp Morgan, Ray Morgan and Tom Morgan. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharries, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
