Obituary for Delores June Hauri Delores June Hauri, of Dutch Hill Rd., West Valley, died Wednesday June 27, 2018 at her home at the age of 81. She was born June 22, 1937 in Riceville, New York a daughter of the late Gordon and Ella (nee Waldron) Scharf. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband on their farm in West Valley. She was a founding member of the Calvary Community Chapel in Delevan where she was a Sunday School teacher, she had also taught Sunday School at the West Valley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking cakes, knitting and was known as a jokester. She was involved with the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, 4-H and was a volunteer at West Valley Central School. Her husband Donald Harmon Hauri, Sr. whom she married June 8, 1957 in West Valley passed away April 14, 2018. She is survived by her children – Donald, Jr. (Cindy) Hauri of Horseheads, Gordon (Marjorie) Hauri of East Otto, Jeanne (Don) Ford of West Valley, Fred (Terri) Hauri of West Valley, Cassandra (Rick) Bochenek of Cattaraugus, Maella (Don MacMillan) Reynolds of East Otto; brother – Darrell (Onalee) Scharf of Belfast; sister-in-law – Pat Scharf of Riceville; 22 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother – Delonne Scharf; infant sister – Laurel Scharf and great-grandson – Alex Eaton. Friends may call Saturday July 7, 2018 from 11 am – 1 pm at Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville, where a memorial service will follow at 1 pm. Interment will be in Dutch Hill Cemetery, West Valley. Flowers are gratefully declined, memorials may be made to HomeCare and Hospice, 1225 W. State St., Olean, NY 14760.
