Obituary of David Darrigo David Darrigo, of Campbell Hall and a lifetime area resident passed away on June 7, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center, after a long battle with heart failure and COPD. David was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in 1985, with a grave prognosis at that time. He truly proved all the textbooks wrong, surviving 33 years after he was first diagnosed. He was 66 years old. David was born on November 10, 1951 in Middletown, NY, the son of the late Anthony and Agnes Frank Darrigo. He was formerly a maintenance supervisor. He truly had a heart for the elderly and spent many year volunteering at the Campbell Hall Rehab Center, and for the Friendly Visitor program, receiving several recognition awards for his dedicated service. He developed close relationships with the people he met volunteering, and often brought them home to share meals for the holidays. Over the years David attended several local churches, and most recently was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Middletown. David is survived by his wife, Lynn Dresher Darrigo at home. To celebrate their 35th anniversary last September, the renewed their marriage vows with a lovely ceremony and part at their church. He is also survived by a daughter, Sherrie Darrigo of Dutchess County, a son, David Darrigo od South Carolina, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Other survivors include sister, Patsy Foley and her husband Chuck of Belmar, NJ, Brother, Doug of Barryville, uncle and aunt, Tome and Joan Darrigo of Doylestown, PA, aunt Ruth Vealey of Wallkill, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be tremendously missed by his two loving St. Bernards, Hannah and Gretel. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by the mother of his children, Linda Darrigo, brother, Fred Darrigo and sisters, Linda Elson, Sherrie Casterlin and Becky Conklin. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 391 Mt Hope Rd, Middletown, NY 10940 from 10:00 to 11:00AM. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00AM.
