Obituary for Corinne Slayden (Bailey) Corinne Bailey Slayden 94, of Demopolis, passed away May 30, 2018, at Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Ms. Services will be Sunday June 3, 2018, at 3 p.m from Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with Rev. Bartett Abernathy. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Corinne was born March 10, 1924, in Clarksville, Tn., to James Edmund and Corinne Calhoun Bailey. Corinne enjoyed her garden club, DAR, reading & quilting. She was an Elder in the Livingston Presbyterian Church. She also was very proud of her pins she received for donating blood lifelong to the American Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guy Eugene Slayden; brothers, James Edmund Bailey, Jr. and Tyler Calhoun Bailey. Survivors are her daughters, Patricia Shaw (Troy) of Bluffton, S.C., and Caroline Hill (David) of Petal, Ms.; sons, Guy E. Slayden Jr. ( LaVerne) of Dadeville, Al. and Reid C. Slayden (Linda) of Carson City, Nv.; sisters, Ella Bailey Hay of Clarksville and Maria Bailey Goodloe of Nashville; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchildren. Other local survivors include her nieces, Eleanor B. Hay, Corinne Hay-Mabry, Betsy Hay (Bill) Kimbrough and Peggy Hay (Scott) Bashore and their families. Pallbearers will be Brian Hill, Adam Hill, Tyler Hill, Wayne Knox, Kit Slayden, and Hunter Hill. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Livingston Presbyterian Church, 115-117 North Washington, Livingston, Alabama, 35470. Order Flowers
