Mrs. Christina Pierce Pope, 68, of Stony Point, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Presbyterian Hospital. Mrs. Pope was born October 8, 1949 in Asheville, NC and was the daughter of the late Barron “Jack” Pierce and Virginia Deaton Pierce. She was a graduate of South Iredell High School and on June 25, 1967 she married Danny Pope, and together they shared 50 years of marriage until her death. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pope is survived by one daughter, Micki Howard (Wesley) of Denver, NC and one son, Bryan Pope of Stony Point along with two grandchildren, Lauren and Landon Howard both of Denver. The family will visit with friends 6 pm and service will begin at 7 pm on Tuesday June 26, 2018 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Bill Harris and Dr. Earl Linderman officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Elk Shoals ARP Church, 2850 Elk Shoals Church Loop, Stony Point, NC 28678.
