Charles Jewel Jewel Layne 1928 2018

Obituary of Charles Layne Charles Jewel Layne , age 90, of Whitwell, TN passed away at his home Sunday, Morning June 24, 2018. He was a life long resident of Whitwell and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of IBEW local 175 and was a self employed business man and was an active member of the Crossroads Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his sons, Todd Michael and Richard Allen Layne; parents, Lige and Viola Sanders Layne; brother, Virgil Counts. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Molly Layne; children, Don ( Cookie) Layne, Whitwell, Wilma (Jody) Haggard, Jasper, Brenda (Hal) Willis, Whitwell, Phynessa (OT) Smith, Rockwood, Lebron Hutcherson, South Pittsburg, Denise Moore, Dunlap and Charles E. (Patricia) Layne, Whitwell; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Billy Hulsey; several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1:00 p.m. CDT at the Crossroads Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Whitwell Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Reed Funeral Home, 11675 Highway 28, Whitwell, TN. The family will receive friends Monday 4-8 p.m. CDT.
