Obituary for Charles Wilson Charles Clayton Wilson, 58, passed away on May 14, 2018 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD. Charles was born on March 26, 1960 in Eagle Butte, SD to Florence Ellen (Whipple) Wilson and James John Wilson III, better known as “Dr. Jim.” Charles proudly served in the US Army. He briefly attended Black Hills State College in the 1980’s and also attended SIPI in Albuquerque, NM for training as an optical technician. Charles lived and worked for many years in Minneapolis, MN before returning to South Dakota. Charles is survived by his father, who is the patriarch of the Wilson Family, James John Wilson III; sons, Alexander Ray Wilson and Albert Cottier Wilson both of Pine Ridge, SD, and Thomas John Wilson of Rapid City, SD; brother, Thomas Wilson of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters, Lyn Wilson of Rapid City, SD, and Donna Wilson of Pine Ridge, SD; and significant other, Delores “DeeDee” Little Hawk of Rapid City, SD. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Ellen (Whipple) Wilson; brother, James “Jimmy John” Wilson; sister, Edna Wilson; and nieces, Cassandra Pine and Christina Lone Elk.
