Obituary for Catherine Bailey Jones Catherine B. Jones of Richmond, Virginia was born on September 30, 1927 to Izoria Graham and Charles Bailey. Catherine passed into eternal rest on Friday, June 22, 2018. Her mother, Izoria; her father, Charles; her husband, Robert E. Jones, Sr. and her sons, Robert E. Jones Jr. and Ronald T. Jones Sr. preceded her in death. She is survived by her devoted son, Reginald E. Jones; five grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Ford (Lloyd), Charleen McAllister and Ellen Duck (Charles); one brother, Peter Bailey (Brenda); and a host of other relatives and friends. Catherine was raised in Richmond, where she attended Richmond Public Schools. She graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School in 1945. She married Robert E. Jones, Sr. and from that union three sons were born; Robert Jr., Ronald Sr., and Reginald. She engaged tirelessly with her family and friends, raising three boys, taking care of her mother and father as they grew older, and making afghans for everyone’s comfort, especially new babies in the family. Catherine retired from MCV Hospital as a Unit Clerk after 30 years of service. Catherine was baptized at Moore Street Baptist Church at an early age and later became a faithful member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church where she was a member of several organizations as well as the Choir. Helping and giving of herself have been Catherine’s trademark. She simply loved her family and we are blessed to have had her in our lives.
