Calliope Kay Nonis Spires February 13 1928 June 12 2018 (age 90)

90, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Scandinavian Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter Spires. Born in Kranidion, Greece to Andrew and Pagona (Doukis) Nonis, she came to the US at a very young age and worked for the State of RI for 5 years. She then worked for Fleet National Bank for 21 years. As a lifelong member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, she served on the PTA, the board of Daughters of Penelope and advisor to Maids of Athena. She is survived by three loving daughters, Joanne Peggy Spires Fay of West Warwick, Debby V. Culotta of West Palm Beach, FL and Andrea P. Palmieri and her husband Ralph of Cranston; cherished grandchildren, James P. Fay, Ralph E. Palmieri, III, Peter S. Culotta, Rhea A. Palmieri and Alexandria C. Culotta; two great grandchildren, Mason and Vienna; dear siblings, Eleanora Karalis of Fairhaven, MA, Diana DeCarlo of Westerly, and Jason Nonis of CA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Cranston on Saturday at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence. VISITING HOURS will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
