Brett T. Piner, 38, of Davis, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at Carolina East Medical Center. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Davis, officiated by Reverend Ed Renfrow. Brett enjoyed his work as the bridge tender on the Harkers Island Draw Bridge. He is survived by his wife, Rowena Piner of Davis; daughter, Natasha Piner of Davis; parents, Louie and Susie Piner of Davis; brother, Scott Piner and wife, Donna, of Wilmington; niece, Nola Faye Piner of Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mackenzie and Helen Steeves of Havelock and his paternal grandparents, Archie and Mable Piner of Davis. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Davis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brett’s memory to the Beaufort Community Cat Project at P.O. Box 2302, Beaufort, NC 28516 or to the Hope Mission Ministries at 1410 Bridges St., Morehead City, NC 28577.
