Bobby Eugene Liebert 1952 2016

Obituary for Bobby Liebert Bobby E. Liebert, age 63, of Wenatchee, WA, passed away peacefully, in the arms of his loving wife, on August 1, 2016, in his home after a thee-year fight with cancer. Bobby was born on November 4, 1952 in Dodge City, KS, to late parents, Jack and Dorothy Liebert. The family moved to Wenatchee, WA when he was nine years old. He graduated from Wenatchee High School with the class of 1970. Bobby served in the Washington National Guard from 1972-1977. He was a wheel and trackvehicle mechanic and earned the Sgt. Lawerence Franklin Memorial Award for marksmanship in 1975. Bobby was introduced to Debra Taylor by mutual friends, while out dancing. They were married August 14, 1976 and made their home in Wenatchee. They enjoyed their life time together – hunting, fishing, dancing and raising their two children, Lisa and Beau. They retired together in March 2015 and enjoyed traveling to Jamaica, Mexico and Las Vegas with their Legion friends. They enjoyed riding their 4-wheeler up on the Colockum and buzzing around town in it. They enjoyed poker rides on the Harley and the one trip they made in their new motor home. They built an addition to the shop, nail by nail, together to put all their new toys in. Bobby was truly blessed to have lived a full life with family and friends. Bobby was employed at Van Doren Sales for 43 years. He started out sweeping the floors and was quickly moved into the purchasing department ,where he retired on March 31, 2015 as the Purchasing Manager. He always told the young kids, “there is value in starting at the bottom and working to better your position.” His position in purchasing gave him the opportunity to meet and develop many close life-long friendships with vendors in three states. He loved his job and enjoyed going to work to be with 50+ great and wonderful friends everyday. Bobby was a former member of the Purchasing Management Association of Washington, serving as a board member. He belonged and was very active in the Central Washington Bass Club. He fished many tournaments and qualified for the Regional Tournament in New Mexico. He is a current member of the Wenatchee Sportsman’s Association, American Legion-Post 10, Legion Riders, F.O.E. Aerie #204 and the newest member of the Wenatchee Fisherman’s Forum. Bobby was a lifelong outdoorsman. He was born and raised in a boat, with a fishing pole in one hand and a gun in the other. He enjoyed fishing in all the local lakes and the Columbia River. He looked forward to his annual trips to Alaska and Canada with his buddy, Mikey. His skill and ability to catch fish was unmatched. He would gladly share his fishing tips and hot spots with every one. He was an avid hunter, enjoying all aspects of the sport with rifle, shotgun and archery. He had many great experiences hunting ducks, turkeys, elk, deer and bear. He always had fishing or hunting stories to share, leaving family and friends with cherished memories. Just as Bobby had a passion for hunting and fishing, he loved teaching others, especially the youth, and passing on his knowledge to them, just as it was passed on to him. He was a friend to everyone he met, and all who knew him became lifelong friends. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
