Obituary for “Bob” Simons James Robert “Bob” Simons, age 78 years, a resident of Kerens, departed this life Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Louis A. Johnson Veteran’s Hospital in Clarksburg after a short illness. He was born February 7, 1940 at Elkins, a son of the late Rev. James Ray and Emily Louise Simons. On October 29, 1962 at Elkins, he was married to Eugenia Elizabeth Milburn who survives. Also surviving is one son, Robert “Brian” Simons and wife Laura of Elkins, one grandson, Nathaniel Simons and wife Josie, a sister Wilma Zirkle, sisters-in-law, Georgia Simons of Kerens, Mickey Milburn of GA, Catherine Lariscey and husband Leroy of GA. Two nieces, Kathi Simons of Richmond, VA and Jeanne Rohrbaugh and husband Danny of Huttonsville, a great niece, Danelle Rohrbaugh and several nieces and nephews of Augusta, GA and West Virginia also survive. Also preceding him in death was one brother William Ray Simons. Bob was a graduate of Elkins High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired after forty years with Insurance Sales & Management. Bob was a member of H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Maplewood Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Henry will officiate and interment will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion, 326 Railroad Ave., Elkins, WV 26241 or to a charity of choice in memory of Mr. Simons.
