Obituary of Betty Thrift Betty Lynn Wright Thrift, 91, died at Lantern Park Specialty Care in Coralville, Iowa on June 4, 2018. She died of complications after a fall. Betty was born Nov 30, 1926 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She lived for much of her life in the Washington, DC area, 15 years in Oceanside, California, and her last five years in Iowa City, Iowa at Melrose Meadows. She is survived by three daughters; Diana Thrift (Witold), Margie Parnell (Glenn) and Katherine Thrift. Betty is also survived by four Grandchildren, Sean McKenzie (Karen), Joanna Krajewski (Mathew), Sophia Krajewski and Scarlett Parnell (Faron). Betty was preceded in death by her husband Bill; brother, Harold (Helen), and sister Martha. Betty was many things to many people, a loving Mom, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Cousin, Colleague and Friend. Always with a smile and encouragement, she was our best Cheerleader. A memorial will be held at a later date at Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington, DC.
