Betty Mae Treasure January 12, 1924 June 26, 2018 Sierra Vista, AZ ~ Betty Mae Treasure passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, to join her beloved husband, Tom Treasure, with whom she had shared many adventures over 69 years of marriage. She was born in Erie, Colorado, in 1924 to Fred and Fern Simpson who preceded her in death as did her much loved sister, Marge Fox. Betty is survived by her son, Fred Treasure (Barbara) of Raleigh, NC; her daughter Tommy Lou Teel (Charles) of Sierra Vista, AZ; and her niece, Bobbalee Hughes (Ed) of Hernando, MS. She is also survived by three grandsons: Brett Bibeau of Suisun City, CA; Emrys Treasure (Emily) of Atlanta, GA; and Trevor Treasure (Jessica) of Kingsport, TN; and three great grandchildren, Madoc, Carys, and Ellis. She was an Army wife for 20 years, and she and her family traveled to many places across the USA and overseas. Betty Mae was a master quilter and won may ribbons for her beautiful quilts and exquisite and amazingly precise hand stitching. She was the best mother anyone could have had. Job well done, Mutti! Heartfelt thanks to our wonderful friends and neighbors. Special thanks to Canyon Vista Medical Center and Dr. Ballum, Dr. Leonardo Serfino and staff, BrightStar, Whetstone Fire, and Casa de La Paz. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Betty’s name to Dr. Paula Tyler’s animal welfare fund: The Dallas Memorial Fund, c/o Cochise Animal Hospital, 1993 S Barnett Rd, Bisbee, AZ 85603. A brief memorial service will be held this Friday, June 29th, at noon (arrive at 11:30) at the chapel at Southern Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail.
