Obituary for Betty K. Walling Betty K. Walling, age 87 of Bristol, VA passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at N.H.C. of Bristol after a lengthy illness. She was born in Greeneville, TN to the late Charles and Ruby Kirk and moved to Bristol with her family at an early age. She was a graduate of Bristol Tennessee High School and retired from Beecham Laboratories. Betty was preceded in death by all six of her brothers and sisters, Joe Kirk, Harold Kirk, Wayne Kirk, Bill Kirk, Lucy Stapleton and Lois Kirk. Betty was married to Bill Walling who died while serving in the U.S. Army. She was also preceded in death by lifelong friend, Virginia Cole. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews plus several great-nieces and nephews. Betty was cared for by her extended family, Kim and Gary Nichols and Jean Cole. A special thanks for the care that was provided for Betty by Kelley Vanover and Megan Nichols. The family would also like to extend special thanks to the staff of N.H.C. Healthcare of Bristol and Caris Hospice for the wonderful care and love shown to Betty. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 15, 2018 in Glenwood Cemetery with Rev.
