Obituary of Ardin Thompson Ardin Lee Thompson, 81, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Lutheran Homes in Muscatine. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Ardin’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Ardin Lee Thompson was born on April 16, 1937 in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Gene M. and Neva E. (Bacon) Thompson. Ardin lived on a farm in Hopkinton, Iowa until moving to Muscatine in 1977. He was a member of First Christian Church. Ardin enjoyed watching WWE wrestling with friends, traveling to Branson, Missouri and his favorite trip was visiting the Grand Old Opry. He was on the Special Olympics team, especially enjoying bowling. Ardin will be deeply missed by his sister-in-law Helen Thompson of Muscatine; nieces, Sherry (Mike) Seright, Gina Cunningham, and Susan (Craig) Carey, all of Muscatine; great-nieces and nephew, Nicole Watson of Des Moines, Kelly Cunningham of Los Angeles, Taylor Carey of Muscatine and Dustin Purvis of Muscatine and his friends and family at Optimae. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene “Mick” Thompson.
