Anna J. (Main) Graves, 97, of Glendale and formerly of Tombstone, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Banner, Thunderbird Medical Center. Anna, daughter of the late Wallace and Emma (Escapule) Main was born in Tombstone on July 19, 1920. She was raised in Tombstone and graduated from Bisbee High School and attended Tempe Normal School. Anna worked as a banker for 21 years at Arizona Bank and then as manager of the Tombstone Restoration Bookstore for 17 years. Anna resided in Tombstone most of her life and was heavily involved in the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Throughout her tenure in the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, she serviced in many lead roles including: Post #24 President, Chaplin, and District President multiple terms. At the annual Auxiliary State Convention, Anna was awarded Mentor of The Year. Additionally, Anna was a member of the Tombstone Business and Professional Women’s Club and held all offices and awarded Woman of the Year and Woman of Achievement. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband Arthur Joe Graves, a brother Wallace Main, and a sister Marjorie Petersen. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl A. Lindsey (Michael) and Suzan J. Watson; a granddaughter, Holly A. Towers (Barry); a grandson, Matthew M. Lindsey; five great grandsons, Scott, Luke, Alex, Cole, and Gavin. Funeral services for Anna will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 am at Tombstone Community Congregational Church 116 East Allen Street, Tombstone. Rites of committal will follow in Tombstone City Cemetery, West Allen Street. A visiting hour for Anna will precede her service on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the church.
