Obituary of Susan Martin Rochester, NY. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at age 78. Predeceased by her parents, James, and Margaret Thomas; her son, Greg Martin. Survived by her son, Gary Martin; siblings, Janice Hennon and Jim Thomas; sister-in-law, Nancy Thomas; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and her special friends at St. Jude. Susan was born on March 11, 1944, in Rochester, NY to James and Margaret Thomas. James was a locksmith and Margaret was a greeter. Her siblings were Janice and Jim. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1962. She went to RIT where she studied secretarial science. At RIT she was also involved in the marching band and softball. She worked as an office manager and was a former model for Kodak, she was a Kodak Girl! She met John and had her children, Gary and Greg. As a family, they enjoyed camping and bowling together. She had many friends that she met at St. Jude. Her favorite saying was “Hurry up and wait”. She was caring, fun-loving, smiling, helpful, and stubborn! She loved to drive with the top down on Lake Avenue in her MG. She enjoyed golfing, game shows, crossword puzzles, scrabble, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was not a fan of waiting or politics. She also played the oboe and piano. Walking to work at Kodak with her father James was very special to her and had a great impact on her life. A memorial service for Susan will be held on Saturday, January 28 from 12-1 pm at the funeral home, 15 West Ave., Spencerport. You may donate in Susan’s memory to the American Heart Association at
