Scott Mitchell Sumner, age 29 of Dover, TN passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 14, 2023. He was born August 30, 1993 the loving son of David Sumner of Big Rock, TN and Deborah Stafford Wallace of Dover, TN. Scott was a hard worker, employed as a construction and demolition worker in Oklahoma City, OK. He was a member of Cross Creek Baptist Church, Indian Mound, TN. He was a graduate of Northwest High School class of 2012. Growing up, Scott enjoyed playing basketball and baseball with his classmates and brothers. Scott loved spending time with his son, making memories that will last a lifetime. He is preceded in death by his brothers; Nathan Wallace, Christopher Wallace and paternal grandparents; Rodli and Thirllene Nash Sumner. He is survived by his loving son; Casey Sumner of Oklahoma City, OK, father; David Sumner of Big Rock, TN, mother; Deborah Stafford Wallace of Dover, TN, brother; Timothy Wallace (Dana) of Clarksville, TN, maternal grandparents, with whom Scott made his home with, Griffin and Sandra Stafford of Dover, TN, aunts; Kimberly Rorie (Mike) of Indian Mound, TN, Johanna Singleteary (Bryant) of Big Rock, TN, uncles; Johnny Stafford of Lancaster, PA, Ronnie Sumner (Shannon) of Big Rock, TN, Dwayne Sumner (Rhonda) of Big Rock, TN, nieces, nephews, extended cousins, aunts, uncles and many dear friends. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2023 beginning at 11:00 am and continuing until the hour of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Hart Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
