Walter Lee Keith, 80, a resident of Benton Station in Polk County went to his eternal home Saturday, December 9, 2023. He was born November 17, 1943 to the late Elvira S. and Myrtie Keith, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Myrtie “Skip” Keith Jr. and many aunts and uncles.
Mr. Keith worked for JR Evans Lumber Co. for 40 plus years and then for Johnson Brothers Cabinet Shop until his retirement. He loved hunting and fishing but most of all he loved his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.
Left behind is his wife of 56 years, Stella Keith; children, Mickey Keith (Glenna), LouAnn Weaver (Tige); grandchildren, Nathaniel Keith (Tasha), Kevin Campbell, Ryan Keith, Lora Keith, Josiah, Samantha, Serenity and Olivia Forrest; great grandchildren, Braylynn, Jr “Little Whiskers”, Zoe, Max, Stella Jo Keith, Peyton and Kadence Campbell; brothers and sisters, Diane Blumenstock of Alabama, Susan Baxter (Don) Ogdensburg NY, Brian Keith of Jasper TN., William Keith of Summerville GA, and Michael Keith; his best friend of 50 years, Mickey Johnson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Friday at 1 pm at Chilcutt United Methodist Church, 689 Chilcutt Rd., Cleveland, TN., with Reverend Richard Chastain officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery with Nathaniel Keith, Tasha Keith, Tige Ellison, David Cross, Lil David Cross and Mitch Cross serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 am until 1 pm at the church. Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
