Shelton “Dink” Luttrell Jr. passed away October 9, 2023, in St. Helens, Oregon surrounded by loved ones. He was born May 13th, 1939, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
He was the only child of Shelton Luttrell Sr. and Lula Belle (Rickert) Luttrell. The family moved to St. Helens, Oregon in the early to mid-40’s. Shelton attended St. Helens schools through his junior yr. He completed high school and went to community College in Fayetteville, Arkansas, pursuing a drafting degree.
Shelton returned to Oregon, where he met and married Margaret Abston in 1961. They had a son Curtis Luttrell before divorcing. Shelton met Jacqueline Huff in Portland, and in 1969 Shelton married Jackie, her son Craig Huff, and daughter Laura Huff. Together, they welcomed a daughter Leslie Luttrell.
Shelton worked as a draftsman for a few years before deciding to become a truck driver, which he did until retirement. Shelton had many hobbies and interests. He Loved playing darts and was very good! He and Jackie played tournaments from Canada to Southern California. Shelton was also an avid DIYer and true craftsman, but mostly, he was an incredible man who loved his family unconditionally.
Shelton was preceded in death by his father Shelton Luttrell Sr.; mother Lula Luttrell; wife Jackie Luttrell; and son-in-law Rick Howell.
Shelton is survived by son’s Curtis Luttrell and Craig Huff (Debbie); daughters Leslie Luttrell and LauraMeyer (Jeff); granddaughter’s Lauren Anderson (Michael) and Kelsey Elliott; grandson’s Benjamin Huff (Megan) and Dayton Elliott. Columbia Funeral Home and COVID-19
