George E. Orrender, age 60 of Painted Post, NY passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation, Horseheads.
Born on February 25, 1963 in Dayton, OH, he was the son of the late Jessie and Margaret (Armstrong) Orrender. He married Tracie Madigan on November 3, 1990. She predeceased him on September 13, 2023.
George was a big animal lover – having many different pets over the years. In his younger years, he enjoyed being out in nature and hiking in the mountains. The Catskills and Blue Ridge Mountains were two of his favorites. He was a huge Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed watching movies about aliens and the supernatural. His family and friends will remember him most as a passionate, kind hearted and generous man who always had everyone’s best interest at heart. He always wanted to make sure everyone else was taken care of, and he would do all of it while making you laugh with his great sense of humor.
George is survived by his daughter, Margaret Horn of Corning, NY; sister, Kristin Wood; aunt, Clara Keen, niece, Mindy Radford Mick; and nephew, Joshua Hill. In addition to his parents and wife, Tracie, George was predeceased by sisters: Cynthia Radford and Kerrie Orrender; and special dog, Bud.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
