CYRILLA ROSALIE WILLIAMS December 12 1922 November 9 2023

December 12 1922 November 9 2023
Cyrilla Williams, the seventh child of Rosie McSwain and Lewis Solomon, had two brothers and four sisters, all of whom departed this life before her. As a child, Cyrilla loved to listen and learn about life, the world, about God, and how to get to know Him. As a teenager, she worked steadfastly to earn top grades in High School, being a member of the Honor Society for all four years and the National Honor Society upon graduation. Desiring to expand her Christian activities, she taught Sunday school and Daily Vacation Bible School. She worked for the Chicago Chapter of the American Red Cross during World War II, for 11 years in total.
As a born again adult Christian, she married Hiram Williams, a stalwart Christian and a Prince of a Gentleman. Four children were born of that union, Michael, Timothy, Ryné and Lyné. Cyrilla was a stay-at-home mom for about 14 years at which time she returned to school earning a Bachelors and a Masters in Education. She enjoyed teaching and received a superior rating for each of the 23 years that she taught. Her husband expired in the 47th year of their marriage.
As a senior, she enjoyed traveling to Africa, China, the Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Hawaii, and this “Sweet Land of Liberty”. She remained active through line dancing, long walks, and Hatha Yoga. She kept her mind stimulated by reading about the Kings and Queens of Africa. As a child of Africa and a child of American Slavery with the blood of Jewish, Indian, and Irish ancestors in her veins, and a born again child of the King of Glory, she is looking forward to walking through the valley of the shadow of death, fearing no evil, being absent from the body and present with the Lord.
