Yettie Saucier Rivet, age 94, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Loving wife of 70 years to the late Huey J. Rivet, and mother of Priscilla “Cookie” Rivet (the late Nolan) and the late Kerry J. Rivet. Grandmother of Velvet T. Najolia, Kori N. Hebert (Tommy), Terran M. Najolia, and Keri B. Gonzales (Alex). Great-grandmother of Kayla (Charlie), Maranda, Caymen (Marcia), Taylor (Cody), Allie (Caleb), Rhett (Jadyn), Braedan, and Matalie. Great-great-grandmother of Kayden, Isabella, Kyleigh, Mazie, Alice, CJ, Christian, Mia, Baby Caymen, and a 10th on the way. Yettie was born December 4, 1927 in Pointe à la Hache, Louisiana to the late Olivia D. Saucier and the late Louis E. Saucier. Yettie is predeceased by her siblings: Herman Saucier, Pearl Stelljes (the late Louis), Rena Mayeaux (the late Charles), Gladys Robert (the late Fred), Louis J. Saucier (the late Adelaide), Myrtle Berger (the late Lloyd), and Lloyd J. Saucier (the late Dot). Yettie is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. For all who knew her, she was a great care-taker and enjoyed her walks. She will be deeply missed by all. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11AM on Friday, September 30, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 15405 US-90, in Paradis, LA. Visitation will begin at 9AM. Interment will follow immediately at Holy Angels Cemetery in Westwego.
