View Tribute Book Pete Wimberly, of Lenoir City, departed this life into the arms of Jesus on December 1, 2022. Pete was a loving husband, dad and granddaddy to four grandchildren. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Concord, a faithful servant and active member of the Poole/Creswell Sunday School Class. Pete will be remembered as a man of faith and integrity. He loved the beach, golfing and was an avid UT sports fan. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served aboard destroyers USS Agerholm and USS Hull. Pete graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Business Administration with an Accounting major. He grew up in Oak Ridge, graduating from Oak Ridge High School in 1958. Pete was a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) through the Institute of Supply Chain Management and retired from Standard Aero in Maryville. His work career also included EG&G ORTEC, Memorex Telex and Elo Touch Systems. Preceded in death by parents Lester and Lucy Wimberly. Survived by the love of his life of 48 years, wife Debby; daughter Courtney Windley (Mike) of Midlothian, Virginia; son Tyson Wimberly (Amanda) of Chattanooga; grandchildren: Jackson and Hannah Windley; Elliott Kate and Emerson Wimberly; sister Kaye Wimberly of Oak Ridge. The family will receive friends at Click Funeral Home, Farragut Chapel, December 7, 10:30–11:30 AM followed by a celebration of Pete’s life at 11:30 AM, officiated by Rev. Mike Windley. Burial will be held at the Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, Forks of the Rivers at 2:00 PM on December 7. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in Pete’s memory.
