He was born in Natrona Heights on October 23, 1936 to the late Wilbur Minor and Helen Glath Herrington and had been a resident of Lower Burrell since 1962. Mr. Herrington was a Marine Corps. Veteran serving during the Korean War and worked in grocery supply for Foodland for 44 years. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell and of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, playing cards, camping and was a basketball referee. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Shirley Ann Malisher Herrington, daughter Debra (James) Gehenio of Camp Hill, son Eric (Paula) Herrington of Center Twp., grandchildren Alexandria Sayer, Jessica Manns, Christin Wintermantel, Ashley Wingert, Erica Herrington and Cassandra Gehenio and three great grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of Prayers of Transfer at 11:30 AM at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Rd. at Alder St. followed by Christian Funeral Mass at Noon at St. Margaret Mary Church. Interment with Military Honors by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum, Lower Burrell.
