July 30 1922 June 21 2022
Wanda Lois Reynolds, formerly of Pilot Knob, MO, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the age of 99 Years, 10 Months, and 23 Days. She was born July 30, 1922 in Marion, Illinois to Coy E. Cox and Daisy H. (Tucker) Cox. In July of 1942 Wanda was united in marriage to John Reynolds who preceded her in rest in February of 1995. Though they didn’t have any children of their own, Wanda and John raised two of their nephews, Bruce Smith who preceded her in rest November of 2021, and Steve Smith who survives. Survivors include her nephews Steve Smith and wife Sherri of Decatur, IL, Darrin Cox and wife Stephanie of Oskaloosa, KS, Helen Smith (Bruce’s wife) of Jacksonville, IL, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and many more loving family members and friends. Wanda is preceded in rest by her parents, her husband John, a nephew Bruce Smith, two brothers Edward Cox and Coy Cox, and three sisters, Pauline Smith, Eveleen Hassenfritz, and Joyce Ebert Riley. Wanda was a 1940 graduate of DeSoto High School and went on to work many years as a bookkeeper for her and John’s two gas stations. She was also a hairdresser and went on to become a minister and shared her vast knowledge of the Lord with others. When she wasn’t working her other jobs, she was a talented and caring homemaker. In the last few years, she lived with her nephew Darrin and his family in Oskaloosa, KS and was very much loved by their community; she was known by many there for their “Adventures with Aunt Wanda” Facebook posts. Miss Wanda will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 02, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cole Family Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 02, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Cole Family Chapel. Interment will follow the services in the DeSoto City Cemetery in DeSoto, MO.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Wanda Lois Reynolds July 30 1922 June 21 2022.
