View Tribute Book UNITY, MAINE-Wanda June Dowdy, 83, joined her husband in Heaven on November 25, 2022, at a Waterville hospital. She was born on June 21, 1939, in Loveland, Colorado, a daughter of Warren and Cora (Cripe) Birdsill. She married Marvin Lee Dowdy on September 23, 1972. Wanda owned and operated Dowdy Treasures selling handmade crafts and cards. She attended the Federated Church in McDonald, Kansas and most recently the Know Ridge Baptist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in both Bird City, Kansas and in Unity, Maine. She is survived by 3 sisters: Joyce Birdsill of Lake Placid, Florida, Beulah Leuthold of Atlanta, GA, and Ruth Moore of Denver, CO; stepchildren: Mark Dowdy and wife Janet, Cindy Dowdy, Wayne Dowdy and wife Tammy, and Annie Davis and husband William; 6 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Marvin. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Knox Ridge Baptist Church.
