Vivian Marie Hoskin, 86, of York, died peacefully at home on Friday, November 4, 2022. Born in Lewistown on January 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Harpster and the late Virginia (Wagner) Alexander. She was the loving wife and best friend of 59 years of Ronald E. Hoskin; they were married June 22, 1963. Vivian was a loving homemaker and also owned and operated her own cleaning service. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, crocheting, sewing, coloring, and arts and crafts. Vivian’s life was her family. She loved to spend time with them, and especially cherished the times spent with her grandchildren Carla, Thomas, Kim, Kelli, William, Ron, and Kels, and her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and grandchildren, Vivian is survived by her daughters Ann M. Rhodes, and her companion Corby Adams of West York and Karen L. Hoskin of York. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Thomas W. Freed, Sr., and her brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing for Vivian at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Vivian’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
