Virginia Ann Knisely, 81, of York, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Born in Ickesburg, Perry County on October 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln Reisinger and the late Elizabeth (Kerr) Reisinger. She was the loving wife of 60 years of Donald E. Knisely, they were married June 2, 1962. Virginia attended Green Park School in Perry County and later graduated from Mansfield University with a Degree in Home Economics. She went on to teach home economics at the Hempfield School District in Lancaster County and later for the South Eastern School District in York County. Virginia also helped run the family farm which she and Don owned off Trout Run Road in York. She was active with the 4-H Club and enjoyed square dancing, cooking, sewing, and canning. In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by her son Steven S. Knisely, and his fiancé Debra Burke of Guyton, GA, her daughter Teresa L. Magee, and her husband Joseph of York, her grandchildren Devin and Megan, her great-grandson Chase, and her brother Roger Reisinger, and his wife Sally of Ickesburg. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York, with Chaplain Bryce Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. There will be a viewing for Virginia on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Virginia’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
