A funeral service will take place on Saturday 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Vincent James Giuffre, 96, a longtime resident of Kingston died Friday December 24, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born November 19, 1926 in Queens, he is the son of the late Marino and Mary (Barbere) Giuffre. Mr. Giuffre graduated from Brooklyn Tech-Structural Class of 1945. He served our country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wasp in 1945 and was stationed in Naples, Italy in 1946. He worked as a Transportation Engineer for thirty nine years for the New York State Department of Transportation. Vince loved his long drives throughout the area, as he supervised many of the roads while working for the DOT. Active in local veterans affairs, he was a member of the VFW Post 1386, where he served as quarter master, and the American Legion Post 150, where he was a treasurer and chaplain. He always enjoyed visits with his many friends at both the VFW and the American Legion. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Kingston. Surviving are his three daughters, Linda Giuffre McDonough, Joan Giuffre Maggard and her husband Al, Catherine Giuffre DuMond and her husband Kevin, grandchildren Jason DuMond and Melissa McDonough Langlois, great grandchildren Collette, Gianna, Cadence Langlois. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of forty seven years Helen (Callahan) Giuffre and his brothers Joseph and Frank Giuffre.
