View Tribute Book Mr. Troy Shawn Shiflett, age 52, of Covington, died Friday, November 11, 2022, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. He was the husband of the late Amy Pullin Shiflett. Mr. Shiflett was born December 6, 1969 in Clifton Forge, the son of the late Richard Wayne “Dickie” Shiflett and Melody Grant Hirten. A lifetime resident of this area, he was employed in the maintenance field as well as was a carpet cleaner before his retirement. Troy was often referred to as the “The Junk Man” as he enjoyed tinkering around with things and collecting antiques. He also enjoyed gardening and truly loved spending time with his family as well as his beloved dog, Skylar. Mr. Shiflett is survived by a daughter, Angel Robertson and husband, Kyle Robertson of Covington; a son, Shawn Allen Shiflett of Covington; a grandson, Waylon Scott Robertson; a special friend and companion, Judy Ingram; a brother, Tony Shiflett (Pam Hall); aunts, Susan Wolfe (Matthew Hillmer) and Wendy Smith; a special cousin, Tommy Shiflett; and a mother-in-law, Diedra Pullin. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 18, 2022 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Chris Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
