Tommye Denise Turner, age 67, of Ozark, Arkansas died Friday, December 9, 2022. Denise and her husband traveled early in their marriage between Missouri and California until building a home in the mountains of Ozark in 1977. She worked at George’s Grocery and the National Guard Armory in Ozark. She was a cub scout leader, volunteer poll worker and was of the Catholic faith. Denise loved raising her vegetable garden, planting flowers and canning in the summer. She loved her family and never missed a special moment with her granddaughters, Abbey and Hannah and enjoyed spending summers with her nieces, Cassie and Bonnie, teaching them about hard work and life in the country. Denise was born February 21, 1955 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Thomas and Sue Kjer Hopper. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Erik Hopper, nephew Wesley Williams, and brothers-in-law, Mark Turner and Roy “Jr. “ Turner. Denise is survived by the love of her life of 50 years, Mike Turner; one son Aaron Turner and wife Jackie; two granddaughters Abbey Turner and companion Jake Miner, Hannah Turner and companion Kyle Scott; sisters-in-law Sarah Holland and Debbie Williams and husband Dan all of Ozark; five sisters, Nancy Smith and husband Larry of Chaffee, Missouri, Bridget Benson and husband Rodney, Pam Job and husband Jim all of Kelso, Missouri, Dorothy Howard and husband Chester, Martha Hopper and Karen Halter all of Scott City, Missouri, eleven nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark, with burial at Highland Cemetery Highway 64 Ozark, with Brother John Kendrick officiating, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
