November 30 1966 July 25 2022
Thomas J Schumacher, age 55, of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, July 25 2022 at home with his wife by his side. Thomas was born November 30, 1966 to the late James and Lillian (Wisenbaugh) Schumacher in Harbor Beach on the night of the sinking of the Daniel J. Morrell. That boat played an important role in Thomas’s birth as the nurses weren’t sure if his dad was still out on a ship on the lake or if it was his boat that had gone down. Thomas married his beloved wife Anita (Anson) on September 11, 2004 at the Murphy Museum with Mayor Ed Ramsey officiating. They were married outside under the trees, in the garden with family and friends in attendance. He adopted both his girls as quickly as he could, and was honored to be called dad. His joy over his wife and girls was nothing compared to how he felt about his grandchildren. He even went so far as to have his grandchild’s, McKenzie “Pink” Peruski, birth announced over the shop loudspeaker. He loved to have 2 to 3 hour breakfasts with his grandson, Quentin “Monster” Holdwick, and be teased about “I left you some Papa.”. He was also lucky enough to get to have an honorary granddaughter Samantha “Sammygirl” Wood, who he enjoyed driving home from school and grabbing a tea with for the ride. Thomas loved to tease and laugh with a sparkle in his warm honey brown eyes. He loved to drag race, work on his AMC’s and Jeep’s, and raise animals with his wife. He was a friend to many with an unlimited amount of kindness. If you needed him he always did his best to try and help, even if it was only saving someone from a gross creepy crawly and taking it outside. Thomas is survived by his wife Anita, daughters Abigail (Keith) Holdwick and Andrea Schumacher, grandchildren McKenzie Peruski, Quentin Holdwick, honorary granddaughter Samantha Wood; siblings Jim (Susan) Schumacher, Eric Schumacher; mother-in-law Ann Sams; brother-in-law Eugene (Jennifer) Anson; 4 nieces and nephews; 6 great-nieces and nephews, 6 great-great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Schumacher, Father-in-law Clarence Anson, and Step Father-in-law Edwin Sams, Godmother Eleanor Platte, and many aunts and uncles. Thomas has been cremated per his wishes, and requested no viewing or services. There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends on September 11, 2022 at Farmer’s Tavern from 12-3. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Kidney Foundation in his name, as this is what stole this wonderful man to soon from his family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com
