View Tribute Book “Ted “Mueller passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 28, 2022. Born in Oakland California to Otto Mueller and Charlotte Mueller nee Neddersen, Ted lived his youth years in Cull Canyon and on a ranch near Livermore, California before attending California Concordia College in Oakland, and Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois to train for ministry in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. From July 1965 to December 2005, Ted served congregations in: Sutherlin, Oregon; Saginaw, Michigan; and Santa Rosa, California. After retirement he continued to minister to churches in northern California on an interim basis up until his passing. His servant heart also led him to accept responsibilities in various capacities in the California Nevada Hawaii District and the local Circuit. Always enjoying close family connections, he enjoyed traveling with the family, family gatherings and staying connected with distant relatives. Personally, Ted enjoyed all things related to computers, reading, gardening and traveling, especially by train. Always in a learning mode, he took classes from Santa Rosa Junior College in the years following his retirement including: advanced computer courses, viticulture and ceramics. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Charlotte and his younger brother Edward. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jerilyn Mueller nee Eickhoff, children Timothy Mueller (Kate), Christine Dechert (Bob), and Amanda Kitchens (Chad), two sisters, Nancy Mueller and Mary Rosenbaum and six grandchildren, Brooke, Morgan, Nathanial, Lyla, Gracie and Arthur and two great-grandchildren, Kingsten and Nova as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Because of his love for his children and grandchildren, his family wishes that any memorials be made in his memory to Our Village Closet, an organization founded by his daughter Amanda to serve the foster and adoptive children of Sonoma County. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Santa Rosa, California on Saturday, December 10th at 11AM to celebrate his life here, and the beginning of his life in eternity. For those who are unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Ted, please visit our Tree Store or plant a tree. Read more
