Sue’s Obituary Sue Counts, 74, of Leadwood, passed away December 24, 2022, at her residence. She was born February 24, 1948, in Decatur Illinois, to the late Denver and Norma Jean (Foster) Carter. Sue was a faithful member of the Gumbo First Church of God. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, church family and traveling to Branson. God was number one to Sue and if anyone needed something, she would be the first to help. She was always a fun devoted friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Donald Counts; son, Bryan James Kopp; daughter, Cynthia Sue Kopp; sister and brother in-law, Linda and Kenny Norman. Sue is survived by her children, Jeff Kopp, Terry Nettles and husband Larry; eight grandchildren, Felicia Emily and husband Ethan, Cameron Kopp and wife Destiney, Caty Steinmetz, Abby Mills, Courtney Kopp, Sierra Kopp, Justin Nettles and wife Darian, Kyle Nettles and wife Erica; brothers, Gary Carter and wife Virginia, David Carter and Steve Carter; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, also survive. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, December 30, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 9:00 AM until the service time of 11:00 AM. Pastor Tony Hampton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Herod Cemetery in Desloge.
