Obituary of Stephen M. Finch Please share a memory of Stephen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends. View Tribute Book Henrietta-Vernon- Stephen M. Finch, age 76 and former Vernon resident, passed away early Thursday morning, November 24, 2022, at his daughter’s home in Conesus, NY, surrounded by the love and comfort of home and family. Stephen was born October 29, 1946 and proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On May 15, 2012, Steve retired from the Rome DDSO where he spent his working career as a mental hygiene therapy aide. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 404 of Vernon, and the Stanwix Veterans and Men’s Club. After retirement, Steve became best friend and companion of Fran Whitney and the couple enjoyed playing bingo, trips to the Casino and meals out and at home. Fran predeceased Steve in 2020. Surviving are Steve’s two daughters, Erica Finch (Eric Fox) of Conesus, NY and Renee’ Finch (Tim Finster) of Honeoye, NY, and two grandsons, Chase and Sawyer Finster. A special thanks for the invaluable support of Robert Edwards and Ann Piccione and all of the people who serve at the Monroe and Livingston County Hospices, Highland Hospital, Brentland Woods Assisted Living and Dougherty and Malecki funeral homes. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday December 1, 2022 from 11:00 to 12:30 pm, at the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY.
