Mrs. Scharlotte Guth Gibson, age 92, of Covington, died Thursday, December 8, 2022, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Bobby Dower Gibson. Mrs. Gibson was born October 26, 1930 in Covington, the daughter of the late Earl M. Guth and Margaret Ann Crawford Guth. A lifetime resident of this community, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to yard sales and taking care of children. To her family and friends, Scharlotte was known for her incredible strength especially during adverse situations and her independent nature. Mrs. Gibson is survived by a son, Robert Allen Gibson and wife, Portia of Rockingham; a daughter, Margaret Gibson Martin and husband, Robby of Jeffersonton; grandchildren, Taylar, Alex, Bradley, Rachel, Erin, Asher and Kendall; a brother, Jim Guth and wife, Laura of Covington; a sister, Alice Guth Unroe of Winchester; a number of nieces and nephews including special niece, Meredith Simpson; and special neighbors and friends, John and Dana. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her brother, Garnett Guth and her sisters, Rosemary Aber, Betty Humphries and Lillian Rose. A private service will be conducted at a later date. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 2306 S.
