Orner Sr., 94, a native of Home Camp, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born in DuBois, PA on November 2, 1928, he was the son of the late LeRoy “Roy” and Sara (Williams) Orner. On October 10, 1953, he married Nancy R. (Richards) Orner. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage. She survives. Having lived in this area his entire life and being the person he was, he was active in his church, agriculture, and civic communities. He was a graduate of the DuBois High School, class of 1946, and Penn State University in 1951. Russ was a lifelong dairy farmer and co-owner of Orner Farms and a member of Home Camp United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Russ enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Russ is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Andy) Sedlock and Marilyn (Tom) Larrimer; two sons, Frank (Karen) Orner and Russell (Claire) Orner Jr.; ten grandchildren, Kayla (Deric) Horting, Emily (Steve) Bish, Alyse (John) McIntosh, Stephen (Adrianne) Sedlock, Noah (Magdalena) Orner, LauraGrace (Dane) Linsky, Walker, Ashton, Danny, and Katie, and eleven great-grandchildren, Maddie, Caden, Hadley, Delilah, Iris, Fiona, August, Atlas, Arlo, Helena, and Constantine. Russ was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, LeRoy and Ross, a sister, Hallie Orner, and an infant angel. Friends and family will be received Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. from the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. from the Home Camp UMC with Rev. Nancy Shute officiating. Military honors with be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard at the church. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Home Camp UMC.
