Rosendo “Rock” Escobedo, 65, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born on May 21, 1957 in Corpus Christi, TX, he was the son of Jose J. Escobedo and Gloria H. (Herrada) Shepherd. He married Karlynn Curren on December 23, 2017 and she survives. Rock attended Bedford North Lawrence High School and graduated with the class of 1976. He was of Catholic Faith and retired from Bloomington Transit. Surviving to cherish the memory of Rock is his wife, Karlynn; one daughter, Sarah Roach; two grandchildren, Austin and Avery Roach; four brothers, Joe Escobedo Jr. and wife, Irma, Ricardo Escobedo and wife, Lollie, Carlos Escobedo and wife, Kathy, and Robert Johnson and wife, Darlene; two sisters, Diana Nicholson and husband, Barney, and Debbie Myers and husband, Lanny; and several nieces and nephews. Rock was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Gloria; and one sister, Maria Cavazos. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
