View Tribute Book Ronald Hunt April 24, 1943 – November 28, 2022 Ronald, “Ron” Hunt, 79, of Sterling Virginia, passed away unexpectedly Nov 28, 2022. He was born on April 24, 1943, in Belvoir, Virginia. Ron is proceeded in death, by his parents Rev. Everett C. & Carmen Hunt, his sister, Verna Thrasher (Jim), brothers, Vernon Hunt (Rhetta), Donald Hunt (Weltha), and Dwayne Hunt (Lois) Ron was never married, nor had children of his own, but he adored his many nieces and nephews. Jimmy Thrasher (LuAnn), Vicki Thrasher, Paula Chadwick, Steve Hunt, Bryan Hunt (Suzy), Pam Royals (John), Paula Nichols (Dennis). He also loved visiting with his great nieces and nephews, T.J. (Jen), Jeremy, Sophie, Melanie (Jim), Jesse (Nichol) and he also has many great-great nieces and nephews that he loved very much! He was a very loving Uncle WoWo, as they all call him. He will be greatly missed by them all. Ron graduated from Valley High School in Lonaconing, Maryland. He was very involved in sports during his school years. Shortly after graduating, Ron entered the U.S. Army, where he served in Korea during the Korean War from 1962-1965. He was stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia and Fort Dix, New Jersey. After the Army Ron was a Public Relations Manager with Trans World Airlines and moved onto various other jobs in and around the airline industry. Ron finished his working years as a Quality Control Inspector with Thrasher Construction Company until his retirement in 2010. Ron loved his Washington sports teams, but more than anything, he loved Nascar. He never missed watching a Nascar race, whether on TV or in person. He watched every show about it before and after the race itself! Ron loved hanging out with his longtime friends, Jim and Lina Birch. And his special Dover Downs buddies, Jim and Di, Charlie and Nancy, Barry and Lynn, Ed and Chris and Derrick. You can find them all, most weekends, causing good trouble around Dover Downs. He was well liked and will be very missed by everyone there. There will be a short graveside service Friday, December 9th 12pm at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Virginia with a luncheon and fellowship to follow.
